MIPA's Stone Graniglia enhances the timeless charm of Haus am See

Overlooking the tranquil shores of Lake Constance, Haus am See is a residence that encompasses a family history spanning three generations. In this renovation project by the German studio Hidden Fortress, every design choice reflects a deep respect for memory and a pursuit of modernity. Giving visual and material coherence to spaces, contributing to the elegance of the project, is the Stone terrazzo from the SLABS collection by MIPA, featured in several key areas of the hotel.

The project aimed to harmonise architectural elements from different periods, creating a fluid and contemporary language. The Stone terrazzo, with its large formats and organic texture, was selected not only for its natural beauty but also for its impressive versatility.

In the living area, Stone terrazzo covers the entire flooring, lending a sense of continuity and understated sophistication to the space, which is complemented by soft furnishings and the natural light streaming in through large windows facing the lake. The Stone decoration continues in the dining area, visually guiding guests through a pathway that includes a distinctive detail: the wall beneath the window connecting the two zones, fully clad in terrazzo.

In the kitchen, the dialogue between functionality and aesthetics becomes even more apparent. Stone terrazzo is used across three key elements: the floor, the central column, and the island with a matching top, forming a unified material block that highlights visual and textural continuity. This choice underscores the identity of the material, which takes centre stage even in the most practical spaces of the structure without losing elegance or refinement.

The artisan quality and attention to detail that distinguish MIPA emerge in every corner of the project. The SLABS collection, particularly the Stone decoration, proves its ability to balance aesthetics and durability, offering a rich, resilient, and highly customizable surface.
